Schumer questioned during his appearance before the press why Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was being "being so secretive about his proposal?"
Schumer suggested that McConnell wants to "rush" the trial so quickly because he's "afraid" of what the American people may hear.
The top Senate Democrat said McConnell has not made his plan public, and Schumer is not privy to it. He said he has been waiting for McConnell to negotiate to no avail.
