Willow, 18, posed the question during the latest episode of "Red Table Talk" with her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, and grandmother, Adrienne Banfield Norris.
The conversation revolved around polyamory and nontraditional relationships -- specifically "throuples," in which three people are committed to each other.
According to her mother, Willow Smith has been doing a great deal of studying on the topic and is interested.
"I couldn't see myself in a quadruple, I mean, anything could happen," the teen said. "Personally, male and female, that's all I need."
Her grandmother admitted that the thought of Willow being in a nontraditional relationship made her feel uncomfortable, but Jada Pinkett Smith said she encourages her daughter to experiment and find what works for her.
"I love men and women equally," Willow Smith said. "So I would definitely want one man and one woman."
The episode featured a throuple who wanted to get across the message that the relationship was not just about sex.
Earlier, Willow Smith touched on that topic as well.
"If your intention is just to have sex all the time with whoever you want, that doesn't sit well with me," she said. "That's not aligned with my purpose."
For the record, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that she had a threesome in her 20s and was not very fond of the experience.
