Brignone won her third consecutive women's alpine combined in the Swiss resort on Sunday and made it an Italian double a day after Sofia Goggia claimed the downhill.
Brignone boosted her chances of a top-four finish in the overall standings, too, as the 28-year-old now trails No. 4 Nicole Schmidhofer -- the downhill leader -- by a mere 35 points.
A podium finish is still a possibility although Brignone sits more than 200 points behind Wendy Holdener, who successfully defended her combined title at the World Championships in Are, Sweden in early February.
Brignone pulled off the fastest time in the downhill portion and her eighth-place in the slalom gave her a final time of two minutes, 15.20 seconds.
Canada's Roni Remme suprised in second place -- 0.38 seconds adrift after clocking the fastest time in the slalom -- for a first ever podium while Holdener placed third more than one second behind.
Runaway overall leader Mikaela Shiffrin didn't compete in Crans-Montana this weekend, electing to rest after she participated at the World Championships with a severe chest cold.
The combined brought an end to the racing in Crans-Montana following an avalanche that killed a 34-year-old French ski patroller last week.
