Australian politicians want R. Kelly banned

The embattled singer's possible entry into the country is reportedly being protested by a group of politicians there.
On Tuesday, R. Kelly announced new tour dates in a tweet promising shows in Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
There were no additional details released, and the tweet was later deleted.
The singer has been embroiled in renewed controversy in the wake of the recent Lifetime docuseries "Surviving R. Kelly," which chronicles allegations of abuse, predatory behavior and pedophilia against him.
Members of Australia's opposition Labor party released a statement to the BBC about Kelly.
"Labor strongly supports the refusal or cancellation of visas of non-citizens on character or criminal grounds," the statement said.
Kelly has consistently denied the allegations, some of which date back decades, and has never been convicted of a crime connected to them.
CNN has reached out to reps for the singer for comment.
