Car bomb kills at least 8 in Colombia

Officials said 41 others were injured in the blast, which occurred outside the General Santander National Police Academy.
A high-ranking police official told CNN that the explosion appeared to be the result of a suicide attack.
Police said the driver of the vehicle that exploded entered the police academy forcibly. The motorist was at full speed and ignored calls to stop. The driver is presumed to have died in the blast, but it is unclear if authorities are counting the attacker in the death toll.
CNN affiliate Cablenoticias showed the area outside the police cadet school cordoned off by Colombia's National Police.
People evacuate the area near Bogota's General Santander National Police Academy after the blast.
Colombian authorities have not identified any individual or group responsible for the attack.
President Ivan Duque condemned the attack as terrorism and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
"We the people of Colombia reject terrorism and are united to confront it. COLOMBIA is saddened but will not bend to violence," Duque wrote on his official Twitter account.
He is expected to make a statement from the scene of the explosion.
The US Embassy issued a warning on its official Twitter account to Americans in Bogota, referring to a "security incident" and advising people to monitor local media and police sources for more information.
